Teach the Children Co-Founder, Dickson Senkunda, was born and raised in a small village about 40 miles outside the capital city of Uganda. In an effort to give back to his native country, Dickson and his wife, Heather, started Teach the Children in 2008, with a vision to increase literacy and educational opportunities for children in Uganda. Book drives and fundraisers commenced and over the course of a few years, thousands of books were shipped from the U.S. and distributed to numerous primary (elementary) schools. With time, the organization's efforts have grown - providing greater help and resources to students and schools in local communities. We believe that what we are doing makes a difference - that doing small things with great love leaves a lasting impression on those touched by our efforts.
